how we write about health.
Last updated: October 2026
Resista. is a fasting and habit tracker for people dealing with insulin resistance and PCOS/PMOS. The website exists to make lab terms, appointment questions, and daily routines easier to understand. It is not a substitute for medical care.
who writes the articles
Articles are written by Mia, founder of Resista. They are informed by lived experience with insulin resistance, questions that come up in the Resista. community, and publicly available medical sources.
Resista. does not present its articles as individual medical advice or as clinician-reviewed unless a page explicitly says that it has been reviewed.
how we use sources
When an article makes a medical or scientific claim, we link to the source where practical. We prefer public-health agencies, clinical guidance, peer-reviewed research, and original papers over unsourced summaries.
Sources can explain what a test measures or what research found. They cannot decide what a particular result means for you. Lab methods, reference ranges, medications, symptoms, and health history all matter.
what the site will not do
- Diagnose insulin resistance, PCOS/PMOS, diabetes, or any other condition.
- Tell you to start, stop, or change medication.
- Promise that fasting, habits, or the Resista. app will treat or reverse a medical condition.
- Use a single lab result or internet cutoff as a diagnosis.
updates and corrections
Health information changes. We update articles when terminology, cited sources, or the explanation needs correction. Materially updated posts show an updated date near the byline.
If you spot an error, an outdated source, or wording that could be clearer, email hello@resista.app.
when to talk to a clinician
Use the site to prepare for a better conversation, especially if you have concerning symptoms, abnormal results, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of an eating disorder, or use glucose-lowering medication. A qualified clinician can help decide what testing or treatment makes sense for your situation.
